Terms of Service

The terms you agree to when using GetKoinology.

Last updated 12 August 2026

Who we are and what this covers

These terms govern your use of GetKoinology at getkoinology.com, including the tax ledger, portfolio, price alerts, calculators and everything else on the site. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

What the service is

GetKoinology is a software tool. It organises cryptocurrency transaction history you supply, applies the rules for Indian Virtual Digital Asset taxation as we understand them, and produces summaries and reports such as Schedule VDA.

It also provides market data, price alerts and calculators for general information.

What the service is not

We are not accountants, tax agents, financial advisers or brokers, and nothing produced by this service is tax, legal, financial or investment advice.

Figures the tool produces are estimates derived entirely from the data you import. They are only as accurate as that data. Before filing a return you should verify the results yourself, check your TDS credit against Form 26AS, and have your return confirmed by a qualified chartered accountant.

We do not file returns on your behalf, and we are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of any return you file.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, and you must provide accurate information when you register.

One account is for one person or entity. Sharing an account to work around plan limits is a breach of these terms.

Your data

The transaction data you import remains yours. We process it to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

CSV files are parsed in your browser. Rows are only stored on our servers once you choose to import them, and they are stored against your account and protected by row-level access rules.

You can delete your ledger at any time from the tax page. Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover it for you.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users' data. Do not scrape it at a scale that degrades it for others, resell access, or use it to build a competing product.

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, including reporting figures you know to be false.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Third-party services and data

Market prices, exchange data and news come from third parties, including CoinGecko and public blockchain sources. We do not control that data, cannot guarantee it is accurate, complete or timely, and it may be delayed or unavailable.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details.

Some pages contain affiliate links, disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because a provider we depend on is down.

Features described as beta or planned may change or be withdrawn.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for any tax, interest or penalty arising from figures produced by the service or from a return you file.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above shows when they were last revised, and material changes will be notified on the site or by email.

Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page, and we will respond by email.
